BASALT-S2 is a research instrument for a high-resolution view in tribomechanics. The Tribometer is equipped with a 400 rpm rotary drive and 10 N force sensor with resolution of 1 mN for Pin-on-Disc experiments. The measurings are high reproducible due to the low vertical and radial run-out. It enables test with samples of up to 50 mm diameter. The user software is easy and intuitve and even suitable for students. Due to its cost-benefit ratio the BASALT-S2 is the ideal system for testing tasks of friction between two counterbodies.
