For a repair project at short notice, WITTE TUBE & PIPE SYSTEMS GMBH produced special flanges made of the material 1.4410 (UNS S32750) for the hold of the ship “Grandeur of the Seas”, with an extremely short production time. The “Grandeur of the Seas” is a cruise ship of the shipping company “Royal Caribbean International”, which belongs to the Vision-class. Our client, a French shipyard, sent the material produced in Belgium directly by airfreight to Washington, where it was delivered to the Sparrows Point Shipyards in Baltimore, so it could be installed as quickly as possible in the ship’s hydraulic area. We wish the “Grandeur of the Seas” and her crew safe cruising and always a hand’s width of water under the keel.
