Silicone is one of the most versatile materials and is therefore widely used for hoses and tubes. Fluorosilicone expands the application possibilities of standard silicone hoses and makes them even more adaptable to various uses. To achieve a strong chemical bond, material technology combines fluorine and carbon to increase silicone’s heat resistance, strength, stability, and durability, especially its resistance to oils and fuels. Fluorosilicone lined hoses are a cost-effective alternative to fluorosilicone hoses, although they barely or not at all lose the positive properties of the material.

The production of rubber components is an energy-intensive process. By comparison, SIC’s factory in Pásztó consumes the equivalent electricity of about 310 average Hungarian households per year. In order to reduce our grid load and our carbon footprint, we have set a goal of installing a solar power plant that can cover approximately 10% of our energy needs. Our facility roof has provided the perfect location for the installation of the solar panels, the system has been successfully built and is now in operation. In this article we report: - on the future sustainability aspects of the investment, - the features of the installed system, and also - our expected results and savings.

As part of our product design services, we often receive custommade parts from our clients that require a high level of engineering capabilities to design. This design process can be significantly accelerated by scanning the product with a 3D laser scanner which then creates a CAD drawing. We made a considerable invested to upgrade our technological capabilities to speed up the design process, and make it more accurate. We opted for the SCANTECH SIMSCAN 3D scanner that is a handheld, portable-sized tool used in conjunction with the so-called Geomagic Design X software. This paring is ideal for quality control, reverse engineering, design, and product development.
